Well done to Tayview Community Garden in Scotland who won our over all winners in the community garden category.
The Cultivation Street judges were bowled over by the huge cross-section of locals that have been involved in bringing this community garden to life. It has brought people with mental health issues and learning disabilities, school children, refugees and recovering drug addicts together in a positive and rewarding project bursting with community spirit.

School Garden Winners 2018
1st Prize
Hammersmith Academy
They won £2,500 and 100 Calliope® geraniums.
The judges loved how much this garden engaged older students that may otherwise not have an opportunity to get gardening. Many of the students here do not have gardens as they are so close to central London, and so the garden gives them the rare chance to get outside in nature.


2nd Prize
Damers First School
They won £1,500 + 100 Calliope® geraniums.
The judges were amazed at how much the team have achieved in the garden since the project began in August 2017. The school highlighted how other schools that have won Cultivation Street inspired them in completing their own transformation.

3rd Prize

The judges were impressed with how much this garden incorporates the wider community using community days to extend and transform the garden.

The judges loved that Steve is happy to use his own transport to travel to school and community groups if they can't get to him. This year he has had over 1,000 children attend his gardening sessions. He has connections with and supports a local charity, 4 schools, a college and a hospital.
