Bring the Mediterranean to your Garden
We really have been blessed with some incredible weather recently. As many of us may have lost out on holidays, we wanted to show the ways you can bring the ‘Mediterranean’ to your back garden.
Palm Trees
Nothing screams HOLIDAY more than a palm tree. You can bring the tropics to your garden by buying a garden-friendly one from your local garden centre. They will bring the holiday spirit to your garden and can also be a fantastic focal point. The thick trunks and drooping fronds will add some texture and interest to your space. Place a sun-lounger next to it and you could be anywhere in the world.
Citrus Plants
Lemons, limes and oranges are all fruits that bring something extra to your palate, and you can grow your own in your own back garden. There’s not much better than using a home-grown lemon or lime in your afternoon tipple, and they’ll look amazing and summery too. The bright colours of the fruit also bring that Mediterranean vibe to your garden.
Bougainvillea
This stunningly bright plant will deliver that holiday colour. Things always seem brighter on holiday, and the bright pink flowers of the Bougainvillea bring that touch of the Med to your garden. Walking out with your morning coffee and seeing the bright colours can transport you to a balcony in the South of France.
New containers
Why not change up your pots and containers? If you’re looking to re-pot some of your plants, why not invest in some brighter and more dynamic designs. Adding a touch of mosaic or brightly patterned planters can change the tone of your garden completely, and adds some extra magic. To add some more interest to your garden, add a water feature which will satisfy all the senses.
